Welcome to NIISQ
The National Injury Insurance Scheme (NIISQ) is a no-fault Scheme which provides eligible people with necessary and reasonable treatment, care and support, in some cases for their lifetime.
Anyone who experiences serious personal injuries as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Queensland, on or after 1 July 2016, may be eligible to receive support from NIISQ.

Jason
NIISQ participant Jason had a clear vision for his future post-injury, and his goals included contributing to his community and establishing his farm stay, 'Stones Throw Away'. Here, Jason created a space where people could connect with nature and farm animals.

Jan
Learn about the difference NIISQ has made in the life of our participant, Jan. Thanks to NIISQ-funded home and vehicle modifications, Jan has been empowered to stay living in her home, while also getting out and about in the community after a brachial plexus injury in September 2021.

Mia
At the recent NIISQ/QBIC Roadshow in Cairns, NIISQ participant Mia bravely (and boldly) told her story and shared her experience of life since acquiring a traumatic brain injury a little over a 12 months ago.
NIISQ vs NDIS
The NIISQ & the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) are two separate schemes designed to provide funding and access to support for people with a disability.
They are administered by different agencies, and also have different eligibility requirements, available supports and funding methods.
